Training for races while grinding through long days in the digital industry isn’t easy. But I’ve learned that motivation isn’t always about hype — it’s about building rhythm. Here’s how I keep pushing forward, both on the screen and the trail.
Stacking Small Wins
After coding for hours, it’s tempting to skip a run. But I remind myself: each mile builds resilience, just like every clean commit strengthens the project. Showing up for a 20-minute run is a win. Posting that daily update — another win. Nothing massive, just consistent loading of the system.
Blending Work and Wellness
Working in tech means sitting for hours, but I make movement non-negotiable. I use active breaks to reset my focus. A quick trail run between meetings clears mental cache and keeps my healthy lifestyle intact. My smartwatch is my co-pilot.
Finding a Tribe
I stay connected with fellow athletes on FitGit.me. Seeing others chase PRs or ship big features fires me up. We’re not training in silos — we’re a pack, even if we’re scattered across time zones and Git branches.
Motivation comes and goes — but habits, tech, and community keep me moving.
Always remember to TTFBs!!!
