Check-In Recap: Small Sprints Toward Big Gains

This week, I took a deep breath and committed to a personal health experiment: integrating micro-movements into my daily routine. As marathoners, we’re no strangers to endurance—but the digital industry has us sitting more than we’d like. Here’s how these small tweaks shifted my momentum and mindset.

Starting with 1-Minute Triggers

Every hour, I set a timer and did 60 seconds of intentional movement—squats, high knees, or desk pushups. It broke up the screen fatigue and gave my body a reminder that it’s made to move.

Digital Tools That Helped

I used a simple browser extension to remind me to tune in. The pressure to “do it perfectly” faded when the barrier was so low. Sometimes I turned the timer into a 10-minute walk—other times, I just stood and stretched. It all counted.

The Power of Tiny Starts

Committing to small, daily wins made it easier to stick with. It’s not about beating a PR every day—it’s about showing up. These mini sprints became anchors in my daily routine, and now I look forward to them.

Marathoners, listen up: Even when your big run is weeks away, your daily choices shape your stride. Experiment with what fits. Pick one tiny habit, and grow from there.

Always remember to TTFBs!!!
